Safe Sanctuary Test Application
Safe Sanctuary Certification is now less time consuming and more efficient. You can review the materials at your own pace, take the test online and print off your certificate once you have passed.

Steps for Safe Sanctuary Certification

1. Review the policy information.
You are responsible for knowing this information. You can read the policy or watch the videos. You have limited chances to take the test online, so make sure you know this material before attempting to take the test. It should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to complete the test. If you leave the browser open too long (15-20 minutes) the server will time out and you will have to log back in and start over.

2. Once you feel confident that you know the material:

Use this information to access the testing module:
    Username: TXCUMCTESTING
    Password:  sstest101

3. Create an account
  • Enter your information. Your first name, last name, and address are required. Please enter them as they are listed on your driver’s license. A VALID Email address is also required.
  • You will not be able to access your account in the future to retrieve your password or re-print your certificate if the e-mail address is not valid. Please include a phone number as well.
  • When entering your phone number, it must be entered in the following format: 555-555-5555.
  • Click the “register” button.
  • Set up your personal password.
  • Make note of your username and password for future logins.
4. If you have reviewed the policy and know the information
You can now take the test. If not, you can follow the links from this screen to the  information.

5a. IF YOU PASS
  • Print off a copy of your certificate and save a copy of it for your records. You can log back into the system at any time to retrieve your certificate once you pass.
  • Take your certificate to the person responsible for safe sanctuary at your local church.
  • If your training is needed for a district or conference event, contact the appropriate person and follow their instructions.

5b. IF YOU FAIL
  • You will receive a message that says “You did not receive a passing score. Please review the materials again.”
  • Follow the links to the materials. You have another chance to take a different version of the test.
  • You can choose “go back” to take the test again now.
  • You can choose “log out” to come back later.
  • To pick up where you left off, go to the main page of the application and login with your personal account information using the user id and password that you set up earlier.

6. If you fail too many times:
You will be locked out of the system and will have to contact the administrator to be given one last chance. You can prevent this by making sure you know the material before you take the test.

If you forget your password information, go to the main page of the application and choose the “forgot password?” link. Enter the e-mail address you used to sign up for an account and the application will send you an e-mail with your password information.
